Mamemaki festival was held on Setsubun (節分) which is the 3rd of February.
せつぶん means the day preceding 立春 (this festival is held to welcome spring).
At this time, they have the custom of throwing beans while chanting "鬼わそと" "服わうち", the custom of eating beans equal to age and also eating fortune sushi roll with certain direction. That's why i saw many sushi rolls n soybeans was sold in supermarket.
This is one of festivals that I saw on anime when i was kid,
Alhamdulillah i can see directly moreover its coincide with snow's fallen. 楽しかった
